POWER
SOURCE - Located at the cargo floor, Escape Hybrid’s 330-volt
nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) battery pack supplies electrical energy to start
the engine, to drive at low speeds, and to boost acceleration.
TEAM
PLAYER - Escape Hybrid’s 2.3Ll-4 Atkinson-cycle engine produces 124 Ib.-ft.
of torque and teams up with the electronically controlled Continuously
Variable Transmission (eCVT) to deliver a sporty 155 hp The eCVT, which
houses the electric traction and generator motors, uses a single planetary
gear set to facilitate its seamless operation.
DEDICATED
TO RECYCLING - Escape Hybrid’s Regenerative Braking process captures the
kinetic energy that’s created when you brake and uses it to recharge the
battery pack.
The Ford Escape Hybrid helps you use less gas, which helps your bank account

environmental commitment a step further by funding clean energy projects
(such as wind energy)

For All Your Gear
Escape XLT is available with the optional No BoundariesTM Package. This unique
rack system can carry up to 45 kg (100 lb.) of cargo on the roof, and an additional 45 kg
of gear on its hold-down rear rack.

earth-friendly seat fabric, standard on Escape Hybrid and XLT, is made from
100% post-industrial materials that would have ended up in landfills
otherwise.
